Rob... I just got a copy of Dr. Erik Melchiorre's book. Volumn l, Northern Dome Rock Mountains.

It is a great read!. I found the section of "Geochemisty of the Placer Gold," pgs 112-117, most
valuable information for anyone who is interested in "black sands."

As for me, I now look foreward to Vol. 2, Southern Dome Rock Mns. My old stomping grounds
in the 1980's. Also, last but not least, the photos of Rob's nuggets and "speci" are great eye candy.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for the reply. I sure miss the Quartzsite area. Used to be one of my favorite spots to hunt back in the early 90's, but just too much traffic out there now. Thanks for the comments on the nuggets and specimens, several of them didn't make the book that should have.
